The Proof is in the Posture

Improving your posture in the workplace has great health benefits!

Work, work, work! Many of us spend a good chunk of the day slumped over the desk without even realising it… did you just straighten your back?

The Proof
A group of geeks, who are almost as enthused as us about ergonomics, found that a proactive approach to improving your workstation is directly related to reducing pain and other symptoms related to posture (American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine).

Ergonomic (aka fully adjustable to suit you) chairs, desks, keyboards, mice and screens are vital elements towards preventing musculoskeletal pain and eyestrain.

Individual work station assessments are essential to reducing pain and improving productivity.

Creating an Ergonomic Workstation
Chair heightadjustable chair and footrests
Desk height – elbow height when seated
Document holders and desk space – holds papers directly in front of you and fits neatly over your keyboard for extra space.
Posture – neutral wrist and arm positions - keyboard and mice angles
Productivity and break-timer software – frequent screen breaks to reduce fatigue
Screen height and position – monitor arms and screen filters
Laptop use – ergonomic laptop stands, keyboards and mice for those of you on the move

Great posture results in great productivity!
So, grab your DSE assessor by the arm and get an individual work station assessment or take our Office Work Environment Self Assessment here
